Elmo has been a total obsession for Pau since this summer after mom bought him an Elmo DVD. Kiddo kept rushing the stage despite the long line of people waiting to meet him. Pure bliss and many hugs from big, red furry Elmo. After the picture, Pau was reluctant to leave, a very teary goodbye. Too funny.

Korean Number Song...again and again and again

So Pau has become addicted to this once cute Korean Number song. Unfortunately, we've watched it more times than days he's been on the planet. He loves it, though. What can you do???

Pau at Trader Joe's

It's not the greatest video, but here Pau is pushing a shopping cart at Trader Joe's. Once we loaded up his cart, it's pretty funny to see how quickly this kid can move through the store. A bit of a dare-devil.

Pau at Hospital

Wouldn't you know it, Pau would get sick while we were in Michigan. On his birthday, he came down with a 103 fever. Today, Pau went to the emergency room because he is on day 4 of a fever. Little guy broke out in hives after Urgent Care center prescribed him with amoxicylin he didn't need. Here he is waiting for the doctor in good spirits. What a good little guy.

Ashland Balloon Festival

Here's Pau at the Ashland Balloonfest. Amazing event. About 10 hot air balloons went up two at a time. Pau enjoyed watching them launch one after another. He would point and smile as if saying, "hey, look at that!"

Our little Mozart

Here's little Pau having a blast playing the piano. This is our first full day in Michigan. Pau seems a little jet lagged. Slept last night at about 10 p.m. Yikes! Hope he adjusts quickly. Tomorrow, we're off to Ashland, Ohio for my grad courses. 4 weeks four classes. Here we go!

Pau's First Birthday Celebration

Held Pau's birthday celebration a few weeks early because the two of us will be off to Ashland soon. Family, Korean food and a little Korean tradition. Pau had a "tol" which means that he had to choose from several items on the table. The meaning of the celebration is predict what future successes there are in store for Pau. There was a string for long life, pencil for success in school, soccer ball for dad, money for obvious reasons, trumpet for musical talents, etc. Pau chose the soccer ball first, then the money, and thirdly, the pencil. We had such great fun today and can't believe that soon, Pau will be a year old!

Joshua Tree

We spent Monday at Joshua Tree National Park. It was a gorgeous day, the trees were blooming and we had a relaxing ride through the park. As we started into the park, there was a turtle crossing the street. We stopped to take a picture of the little guy. We had sandwiches near the big rocks and were fascinated by people old and young climbing the rocks behind us.

Here are some pix of Merrill's visit to SD. This is Feb. 12. We had a full day which started at the pediatrician's office. Poor little Pau got his boosters and it only took 1 hour and 1/2 wait time! Grrrrrrrrrrrr...... After the doctor's we headed downtown to have breakfast at a place called the Cheese Shop. Yummmy sounds were made by all of us. Terrific cuppa joe here, the best I've had in SD. Wait staff were fabulous and even tolerated a quick diaper change in the booth. At least, I think they knew we did this. :)))))))))) Then we were off to the Birch Aquarium where Merrill was enamored of this teeny tiny teeny little yellow fish. Very cute and seen above seemingly sitting on a rock. After the aquarium, we had to go get fixins for dinner so the last picture is at Henry's where we picked up clams for steaming and calamari steaks for grilling! Merrilly, you're visit was too short, but very sweet. Next time, bring Brian and stay much longer!!!!

Pau Starting to Crawl????

Pau is technically "creeping" rather than crawling, but hey, it's a great start! Though he was really tired, Pau was a true trooper and got quite a workout today.

Video of Pau in the Bathtub with a Mohawk

Pau loves being in the tub. He starts kicking as soon as he gets in the water giving mom and dad a good shower too! Here he is with a shampoo Mohawk. Punk rock on, little one!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyonne

Okay, really a cute video of Pau sitting up without support. He's doing quite well and is now free to use both hands to grab everything in his path. Better start getting into shape to keep up with this young one!

The Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena

Here we are on New Year's Day at the famous Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena. We got up early and watched a good portion of the parade on television before heading out to the actual parade route. We had a pretty good vantage point. It was a warm day and Pau found this to be an opportune time to take a nap! A few celebrity sightings we can boast about. We saw Jackie Chan waving from the Hong Kong Expo float. Also saw Jared the Subway guy on an American Sports Champion float. It was a fun day for all.

Drive to Palos Verdes

Jose, Pau, the Grandmothers and I drove up to the Palos Verdes Peninsula on New Year's Eve. We stopped at the Wayfarer's Chapel. It was a beautiful and spiritual place. The architect was the son of Frank Lloyd Wright.
